The accumulator is as mechanical device, used mainly in the storage or damping of the potential energy developed in a hydraulic system, working, basically, compressing hydraulic fluids, reducing the volume and increasing the internal pressure of the gas, balancing the hydraulic pressure.
Grupo IPB designs the Accumulators with high quality standards in compliance with ASME VIII – division 1. The bodies are weldless and free of thermal stress which enables them to achieve the expressive value of 15,000 PSI working pressure (WP). They are lightweight, environmentally friendly, easy to install and easy to maintain.

- Nitrogen is introduced through the gas valve until it occupies the entire internal volume of the accumulator.
- When the pressure in the hydraulic system exceeds the gas pressure inside the bladder, the anti-extrusion valve opens and compresses the bladder, reducing the volume of gas.
- As the hydraulic fluid pressure increases, the bladder continues to be compressed, reducing its volume and increasing the internal pressure of the gas to reach equilibrium with the hydraulic pressure.

Grupo IPB manufactures three basic models, the bladder, diaphragm and piston accumulators.
We have in our product line hydropneumatic accumulators of volume capacities between 100 ml to 60 liters and with working pressure ranging from 50 to 15,000 PSI of hydrostatic pressure.
