IPB PIP polymeric coating system is used for onshore and offshore pipes to improve resistance and insulation, as follow:
- Corrosion resistance
- Oil and Grease resistance
- Environmental resistance
- Electrical insulation
- Thermal insulation
⇒ The system complies with ISO 11961 regulations. Consult IPB engineering team to verify compliance with other specifications.
Applications
Drill Pipe Risers Thermal Insulation.
With two layers of special polymer coating, that allows a film of seawater flood into the space between the coating and the DPR, equalizing the pressure, and generating a heat source between the protection layers, and also prevents heat transfer between the metallic pipe and the environment.
Grupo IPB system was certified for 2,150 m water depth with two coating layers of 18mm total achieving a ∆T of 14 ºC between wellhead and rig. Depending on conditions, the system can perform even better, getting down to 0 ∆T. The system was tested up to 3,500 m water depth with no dimensional variation.
⇒ this is an exclusive patented system.
Tool Joints (DPRs) Thermal Insulation
IPB has also developed an auxiliary system to protect the DPR Tool Joints. It’s a telescopic gutter that insulates the connection joint, locked by special gaskets pre-assembled on the pipes already coated with PIP coating system.
The telescopic gutter have its movement restricted by a Grupo IPB Elastomeric Clamp.
PIP Onshore System
Comprises of one or two epoxy coating layers, and an external polymeric layer designed according to the working conditions.
ADVANTAGES OF PIP COATING SYSTEM:
- Versatility, permits layers with different coating thicknesses;
- Also cost effective to coat small tube quantities;
- Easy to maintain. Parts can be easily replaced;
- Easy identification;
- Different coating materials can be applied, according to the project needs.
CUSTOMIZED TRANSPORTATION
Thinking of the solution as a whole, IPB has developed a customized transportation method, adequate to the coated pipes.
We offer a whole infrastructure for training, adequate transportation, storage and installation.
